A core objective of the Centre is career development and capacity building for a range of Mid and Early Career Researcher stages including:

  • Doctoral students
  • Postdoctoral researchers
  • those transitioning to become independent researchers
  • career progression for mid-career staff balancing a teaching and research portfolio

PhD students working with Digit Researchers and Associates are eligible to join our Digit Doctoral Network.

Methods workshops are frequently held at the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics, the University of Leeds and the University of Manchester, as well as at the University of Essex.

This is a 6-month staff development course that currently runs at the University of Sussex Business School by the PI with dedicated professional support from the Research Office and Impact and Communication specialists.
This is a series of seminars for staff at various stages to present their work in progress.

If you would like to become a reviewer for a journal, or want to brush up your existing reviewing skills, you may be interested in a free online course being run by Publons Academy. The training involves being mentored by an existing peer reviewer.
