As part of his Marie Jahoda Visiting Fellowship (2022), Nahuel Aranda investigated ‘Automation, labour process transformations and composition of the working force in the Argentine manufacturing industry 1980-2010: the case of ARCOR’.
Focusing on an Argentine factory during the 1990s neoliberal restructuring process, the research revealed how technical and organisational innovations impacted social relations through conflict, negotiations, coercion, and consent. Furthermore, it underscored the pivotal role of the quality paradigm as a key enabler in the factory’s restructuring process.
