As part of his Marie Jahoda Visiting Fellowship (2021), Hong Yu Liu investigated ‘Researching the impact of software and workplace technologies on knowledge workers: A case study of Amazon UK’. In his research project, he plans to conduct interviews with Amazon’s office workers. The interview questions aim to provide a better understanding of the work experience in this company and how is it affected by the use of software and workplace technologies. This research is important to examine how software and workplace technologies shape the organisational culture and work ethnics to knowledge workers, and to understand the difficulties for workers to negotiate their individual and collective agency in this business environment in reality.
