Dr. Jo Ingold gave evidence to the House of Commons Work and Pensions Select Committee

4 November 2020

Today Digit’s Dr. Jo Ingold gave evidence to the House of Commons Work and Pensions Select Committee for their Inquiry: DWP’s preparations for Changes in the World of Work which covered digital issues.

As part of her evidence Dr. Ingold said: ‘Certainly in the work I have done with employability practitioners, they
are very concerned about the expectations being put on people to search for work. The implications of their digital literacy and digital access need to be addressed. If we are moving towards digital-by-default employment service delivery, which we may be—that is what they are moving towards in Australia—we need to ensure that people who are not digitally literate and have access problems do have that. That needs to be not assumed within policy making.’
